The end of the year is always a new beginning. It is a collective cycle we celebrate or hate, but gives us some perspective.
With the new year, there will be some changes. The main collaborators will continue with their wonderful work. I am so grateful to Sonia, Arthur and Michael for their articles and wisdom. Without them, I would not have been able to do this for two years. But if you want to collaborate too, you just need to send me an email, and we can meet.
And this is just the beginning
.In the new year, you will receive an invitation to subscribe to a newsletter called Temple of Maat, and I will stop this one.
When I started Heka-ICRE, I did it with one goal in mind. To spread magic in the world. At that moment, I thought we needed to convince the people who only believe in science. Magic can be demonstrated, so if we could just change their minds, then the rest will follow through.
Since then, I have realized that’s not the way.
The academic people are the top of the mainstream thinking. Many people, more intelligent than me, have tried to change their minds with definitive experiments, and they couldn’t. Because the academy and science, although they are very successful in their ways, cannot step out of their comfort zone without risking losing their funds.
People can believe and practice whatever they want. And one of the most important freedoms in most of the countries nowadays is freedom of religion.
Religion comes from the word in Latin “religare”, to connect again. Because of religion persecution, many people who practice the Arts had to go into hiding, and Esotericism became a secret pursue, that only a few dared to pursue.
Since then, I have realized that’s not the way.
Today, in some countries, you can profess the religion you want. We need to take advantage of this to reconnect again.
The next step is to create a religion that is not focused on theory, but on the technology. Divination, Theurgy, Magic and Alchemy are the four bases of this religion.
Theory is considered a metaphor to refine the techniques, but its usefulness is only tested in how effective the techniques are. It is the inner experience and the effects in the shared world that can validate, or not. And the theory is just an attempt, always imperfect, to understand what we see and what is happening.
This new religion is called the Temple of Maat. The way I came to this name is too long for this issue, but I will get there in the future. If you want a tip, you can check “Maat Magick” by Nema.
It welcomes every person who is into esotericism, from curious people who want to know more, to the experienced magician.
This new religion is called the Temple of Maat.
There is not a unique path for everyone, because experienced people shouldn’t be asked to start with basic rituals when they have created their own system. Every person who approaches the Temple will receive a different place according to their experience and their willingness to take part.
There will be different trainings, tutors, counselling, different temples to different gods, because the Temple of Maat is also the Temple of a Thousand Doors. A place where different points of view about magic and religion can coexist because let’s accept it, either reality is not coherent, or its logic is out of our reach.
It will also have a space for esoteric temples and orders that have already been established, as well as any organization that share goals with the Temple of Maat. We will establish affiliated venues to work together.
The Temple of Maat is the next step in the evolution of religion. No god should tell us how to live, but we can establish a friendship with any of them and learn from them. A moment in which every human being takes the burden of their own evolution and follows their unique path to enlightenment.
If you want to be part of this, I am here.
